Item of the Week!
I love Mexican food! I also love that I can make it several nights a week at home with simple ingredients that I always have in the pantry. Although I love refried beans, a good side of Mexican rice can really hit the spot. Just like a lot of other foods, I am pretty picky when it comes to textures. I do not like soggy or clumpy rice. I definitely do not like rice with onions in it, which a lot of Spanish and Mexican rices have. Well, if you need an easy and scrumptious Mexican rice to make at home, look no further than Farmhouse Mexican rice.
I was actually in line at the grocery store the other day and the gal in front of me actually commented and said "That is the best rice ever!" I thought it was kind of funny because I was actually buying a box to post about on the blog. Not only is it full of flavor, the texture is perfect. It is also super affordable at about $1 a box. This is also the rice that I use in my Mexican Casserole recipe. You can eat it as a side dish, or part of a casserole or burrito, either way, it is delicious!
I really want to try it in the rice maker but not sure if it works like that...I will try it out and report back. :)
