Turkey Bacon Ranch Crescents

So, we all have those days where we want to cook but again, we really do not want to cook. On these days, I make easy meals that are yummy but probably not the best for me. I just tell myself that it is better than getting takeout and I feel much better.

I always see a billion recipes that include Pillsbury crescent rolls so I know this is not ground breaking. These are not something that I buy on a regular basis but thought I would try out. They always generally have some sort of meat and cheese rolled up and baked. You cannot really go wrong here! So I decide to buy some on my next shopping trip. Perfect!

Well, it was one of those nights. I did not really feel like cooking but I did not want to get takeout. Then it dawned on me; I had purchased some crescent rolls last time I was at the store. Let’s see what I could make with these!

I am one of those people that go to the grocery store and pretty much buys the exact same thing each week. One of my staple items is this Cajun turkey that I get at the deli counter. It is so good! I just buy it to snack on because it is just that tasty. I love spicy things and this is a spicy version of deli meat. It is so good!

I am sure I have mentioned it before but I am a type A, scheduler, and planner person. It annoys my friends and family, and sometimes myself, to no end. All I have to say to that is that I get stuff done and on time! Well, I always do my grocery shopping every Friday morning and my deli lady is always there. She is from Chicago and her son just graduated high school and received a scholarship to one of our state universities. I am just reiterating that I always have Cajun turkey in my fridge! I am friends with the nice lady in the deli now!

Well, when thinking what so do with the crescents, I decided to use the turkey. Another thing I generally have on hand is bacon. To be honest, I hate cooking bacon so I buy the already cooked kind. It is easier and leaves my kitchen less of a mess. I do not buy bacon much anymore because I am trying to cut our all pork products so if I buy bacon; I try to get the turkey kind. So, I thought this would be good in the crescent as well! I then thought about a delicious pizza I had one time that had chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing on it. It was so yummy! I will try to recreate that pizza but in the form of a crescent roll. I took out the block of cheddar and ranch dressing. These were all things I already had. See, that is the beauty of having the crescents. You can pretty much put anything in them and they are tasty. Since I first made these I have made pepperoni and mozzarella ones, leftover BBQ Chicken and cheddar ones, and sundried tomato, mozzarella, and basil ones. Mmmm…good!

So to make any of these special treats is super easy. Simply get all of your ingredients out. Then take one of your crescents rolls, lay down the meat, add the slice of cheese, and add a dab of sauce. Roll up the crescent roll according to the package and place on baking sheet lined with foil and spray with cooking spray. Cook according to package. About 13-15minutes later you have an easy but yummy dinner! Be creative! You can pretty much use whatever is in your fridge. My kind of meal!
