Tangled Party!!!

I am definitely one of 'those' moms that like to throw obnoxious parties for my kids. This is one party that I am excited to finally share on-line! I am so proud of this cake and all the ideas I had to go with the Tangled theme. It was so much fun!! This cake exceeded every expectation possible. I still look at it in awe and can't believe I actually made it! My mom is the best and helped me with all the little details and my dad even came over to help secure it to the base before we had a huge tumble!! I started by using rice krispie treats to form the base of the tower. I used about a 1 inch thick rod as my support. I also made the tower out of rice krispie treats. All the decorating was done in fondant. The cobble stones were hand carved by my mom. She is the best. All the little flowers were done in royal frosting a few days prior. One huge note....rice krispies take a long time to dry out!!! Make that part well in advance so you don't have a droopy tower. Drum roll please......here is my masterpiece!!

I love that cake!! And here is the back. Isn't it cool how the rice krispies made the wall look textured??

I got all the figures at the Disney Store. They came in a nice little pack. They were perfect!

The roof had so much detail. Each of those little pieces was put on one at a time!

I made this banner by hand and cut out each one of those little sun shapes! It took a long time, but it looked awesome!

I love these little boats that I made. I still remember seeing this movie in the theater and I totally cried at the scene when they were in the boat together singing, watching the floating lights. Such a great movie!

This is what I put in the goodie bags and I still think it's so cleaver! I thought of that all on my own. She paints so much and I thought it was a fun thing to send home with the kids.

I also was crazy enough to make this braid out of yarn! Luckily I have a really long hallway in my house. I used the doors on either side and somehow managed to make a mile long braid. It was awesome! And my kids still play with it to this day! 3 years later!

As the guests arrived they got to make these cute little Pascal blowers. They were a hit! I found the pattern for them online.

Last but not least, I had the idea to let the kids paint out on the back wall. It was a fun activity that tied in perfectly with the theme. Everyone got to take home their masterpiece.

I don't know if I will ever throw a party quite as awesome, but luckily I have a lot of birthdays left to try!!!
